2011 SCA Road Running Championships and Grand Prix Series Update 03-06-2011

  • Less than two weeks before the 2011 LA Marathon! USATF members win free LA Kings Hockey Tickets!

    USATF is giving away TWO pairs of tickets to two USATF members who have registered for the 2011 Honda LA Marathon Presented by K-Swiss! Send your name and LA Marathon bib number to runner@joness.com by Tuesday, March 8, 2011, 11:59 pm. Winners will be announced at 5 pm on Wednesday, March 9. The exciting March 17 game is between the LA Kings and St. Louis Blues.

    LA Marathon team scoring: ONLY THREE RUNNERS NEEDED FOR MARATHON TEAM SCORING! Following official USATF rules, only 3 runners are needed for team scoring at the LA Marathon.

  • Brea 8K Grand Prix Scores Online Now! The Janes take 1st place followed by Club Ed Running and Cal Coast!

    Results have been posted for the Brea 8K! If you do not see your results, or see any errors, please email runner@joness.com and we will post corrections. The Brea 8K went very well, with a huge USATF turnout. Daniel Rojas (M-28) and Cheryl Smith (F-30) won with times of 24:44 and 27:47 respectively. In the masters division Christian Cushing-Murray (M-43)and Kirsten Leetch (F-45) finished in 26:29 and 29:20. The Janes edged out Club Ed Running in the team competition for the Brea 8K 4198 to 4189. But Club Ed still holds the overall lead with a total of 8420 compared to 8364 for The Janes. Cal Coast Track Club continues to hold a strong third place position with a score of 8012.

  • LA Marathon USATF Friends and Family Support Stop at the John Fawcett Union Service Station, San Vicente and 26th Street

    John Fawcett, the owner of the Union 76 service station at 26th and San Vicente has generously offered to host USATF on LA Marathon day, March 20. At less than three miles from the finish of the LA Marathon, join us to cheer to on marathon runners as they hit the final downhill stretch before the big finish near the Santa Monica pier. There will be a DJ, music, food, and a festive atmosphere to raise the spirits of spectators and runners! Everyone is welcome!
